Edith Louisa Horle (American 1897-1962)
A teacher, printmaker, craftsperson and painter, Edith Horle lived primarily in Syracuse, New York where she taught at the Onondaga Valley Academy. She earned a B.S. degree from Syracuse University and also studied with Hugh Breckenridge.
Memberships included the School Art League of Syracuse; Syracuse Art Association; Syracuse Printmakers ; Syracuse Print Club; Daubers Club; New Orleans Art Association; Prof. Womens League, Syracuse; Southern Print Makers ; Springfield Art League; Hunterdon County Art Association.
Her work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
